Following on from the success of both ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ in 2005 and ‘The Wizard of Oz’ in 2006 the Music and Drama departments decided to push themselves even further. In March 2008 the school show moved out of its home in the school hall and, for the first time, into a theatre, namely the Muni Arts Centre in Pontypridd.
‘The School of Blood’ is an original musical written by Head of Drama, Owen Thomas, and scored by Music teacher Thomas Breeze. It is a dark tale set in a school called ‘St Hemingway’s School for the Able and Good’ where on the face of it everything seems perfect. But when a new pupil called Holly Brown arrives she soon discovers that bubbling under the surface all is not well and that dark secrets lurk behind every corner. |
