Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Almost everyone in the school was involved in 2006's production of the classic Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in some way. Actors had been practising for months and the Art Department had been a hive of activity as gradually, a burst of colourful scenery emerged. Raffle tickets had been sold and, at last, the three performances were upon us. The audience was welcomed by a rendition of the "Be our guest" by the two narrators, and then the curtains opened, revealing a magical world of colour, crazy characters, chewing gum, guns and of course, chocolate.

An array of colourful scenes unfolded before the audience: Charlie(Andrew Gaunt) and his peculiar grandparents (Amie John, Tom Nation, Lauren Robb and Huw Jones) dancing to "Somwhere over the Rainbow", the introductions of the (rather self-centred) four remaining lucky golden ticket winners, the glorious factory with its eccentric owner amd the three ominous villians, the rival chocolate makers, including Daniel Williams as the gobstopper-grabbing Slugworth.
