Pupils were invited to the National Museum’s Transfiguration workshops to work with contemporary landscape artists Raphael Pepper and Dan Llewellyn-Hall. Students were encouraged to view the work of current landscape artwork that are on display within the gallery, drawing inspiration and recording their observations through new techniques introduced to them by the artists. Students work was selected for display in the National Museum.
The students involved in the workshop were : Owain Davies, Steven Chen, Denese Tan, Sion Davies, Claire Thomas, Danielle Nichols, Chris Hayes, Rhiannon Buckler, John Rogers and Nia Hassett-Rees.
Owain Davies was awarded a certificate for his work being the artist’s favourite choice of art works he was one of two that were chosen out of a sum of 84 works from the combined artwork/ panel.
Steven Chen was awarded a certificate for his work being highly commended by the artists; he was one of three that were chosen out of the 84 works from the combined artwork/panel.
A total of 4 schools were involved the workshop overall, with participation from 130 students in total.
The presentation took part on 6th June where certificates and prizes were awarded to the selected students. The Transfiguration exhibition is now open to the public and will be on display until 19th July.
