Y Pant Supports the Taf Ely Youth Forum

Laura Hayes of year 13 is a young lady whose views are always listened to! This is because she is a member of both the Taff Ely and Rhondda Cynon Taff Youth Forums. Not only does she get to discuss subjects of public interest, but she is also the elected treasurer for both groups which means that she has responsibility for managing their funds.

Laura has contributed to the promotion of the forums by participating in a DVD launch at the Rhondda Heritage Park which involved meeting local MPs and Assembly members and presenting her views on the future aspirations of the forums.

Laura has also spent time in Germany in order to develop her knowledge of immigration which was discussed with other forum members from around Europe.

When she is not busy with these discussion groups, Laura is an elected member of Funky Dragon, the Young People’s Assembly for Wales, where she talks about issues affecting young people in Wales.

Laura sincerely believes in having the views of young Welsh people represented at the highest level and if her success in this filed continues, who knows, she could be the first Female, Welsh Prime minister!
