Key Stage 4

Our Key Stage 4 students gain independence and play to their strengths while studying for GCSE  music (Year 11) and BTEC music (Year 10)

GCSE music has three components: Performing, Composing  and Listening.

Performing and composition are done as coursework and the listening component takes the form of a summer exam.

Mr Breeze and Mrs Kelly take charge of the GCSE teaching. During lessons pupils will develop individual composition skills as well as being encouraged to take opportunities to perform and listen to a variety of musical styles. Pupils will need to be independent and conscientious, prepared to use your initiative to improve their musical abilities, as each of our music students has different strengths and weaknesses.
