The eight members of the Thinking Skills team are all subject specialists in other areas who have a particular interest in Thinking Skills.
Miss L Bunce
"I am mainly Picture Smart (a love of maps probably led me to doing a Geography degree), but as you'd expect from an ICT teacher who also runs the garden club, I also scored highly on Nature and Logic Smart."
Mrs S Burnell
"As a considerate and caring RE teacher my high People Smart score was to be expected. I have always mixed well with people."
Mr R Evans
"I am Picture Smart which comes in handy being a Geography teacher. My high scores in People Smart and Self Smart also help with my other role in school as Head of PSHE".
Mr G Howells
"It's no surprise that as an English teacher I scored 100% in Word Smart. My next highest score was for Nature Smart - which is fitting as I also run the Duke of Edinburgh's Award programme with Miss Purcell".
Mrs H Jones
"My highest score was in People Smart which means I think and learn best when I’m working with others and talking! My second highest score was in Music Smart which everyone was quite surprised by. Perhaps I should join a Rock band …. Or maybe I should just sing in all my lessons!"
Miss S Owen
"My highest score was Logic Smart but that's no surprise from a Maths teacher. My results pretty even all round."
Miss A Purcell
"My results were pretty even all round but showed strengths in Nature and People Smart - maybe that means I can talk to the animals? That's no surprise for someone with a design degree who ended up teaching PE amongst other things!"
Mr P Sweet
"I scored highly on Self Smart which means I work well by myself - a useful skill when writing books. As a History teacher and published author, my high score in Word Smart did not come as a shock either."
The team is co-ordinated by Deputy Head, Mr M Powell.
"As an English teacher and keen reader I was unsurprised to learn that I am a Picture Smart and People Smart. My family was unsurprised to learn that my Music Smart score was extremely low!"
