Pupils start year 8 working on databases and complete tasks working on a database of country statistics. They then move on to desk-top publishing, learning about health & safety issues relating to ICT before creating a tourist brochure for a small island state.
The 2nd half of the spring term is spent on spreadsheets with pupils given the opportunity to learn some more advanced skills. They then combine their ICT skills with their historical knowledge, creating a newspaper based upon the execution of Charles I. Finally year 8 pupils are taught how to create a website and put their skills to the test by creating a website for a fictional radio station or an academic topic of their choice. |
