Visit is organised by First Campus and it allows pupils to manage their own portfolio of shares.

The table represents the most frequently used business contacts that have been fostered. A number of ‘one off’ contacts are made throughout the year in order to support the business studies curriculum where required. The department makes use of the services offered by the Education and Business Partnership to provide contacts/links for specific information needs associated with the business curriculum.

Young Enterprise

GCSE Business Studies Any pupil Year 10/11

The activity is designed to experience how businesses operate. Pupils spend all year running the business. At the end of the year they are involved in a Trade Fair, generating the Company Report and the presentation.

Sony Business Challenge

Year 12 Business Studies students

A group of students take part in the challenge to design, market and present ideas in relation to a given brief. The day focuses on team work and presentation skills.

Young Consumer Competition

GCE Business Studies Any subject Year 10

A team of four students get involved in learning consumer issues to then meet in rounds with other schools at various stages. The competition takes the form of a quiz with buzzer rounds being introduced in the later stages of the competition.

Homework Club

GCSE Business Studies

Year 10/11
At any given time in the year the department will offer homework club – for group or individual help. However it is always available in line with the school organisation of homework club. The main focus for support is in relation to coursework.
