Career Opportunities in Art

There are plenty of career opportunities within Art and Design. Please look at the GCSE Options section for a clear breakdown in the course. The presentation below may help.

We suggest that the natural progression with the Art and Design is to initially take CGSE Art and Design, then to take As and A2 Art and Design before moving on to a Foundation Course.

We have excellent links with Glamorgan Foundation course which has an extremely good reputation. A guest speaker, from the University, visits the school annually to talk to students and show examples of work.

The Foundation course offers intensive workshops (e.g fine art, animation, fashion, graphic design, photography etc) which help students to make a decision about what specialism they would like to move into. The Foundation course will help support students in their application to Universities or Colleges which would be the next step in the Art and Design career.

Glamorgan Art Foundation Talk – Wednesday 7th of January

Jess Moss, a Tutor at the Glamorgan Foundation course came to give a talk to Ks4 and 5 art students about the course. She was able to give an insight into the structure of the year course and was able to answer any questions that the students may have had. Two ex-pupils, Lee and Amy, were able to come and talk about their own experiences and show some examples of their own work.

Glamorgan Art Foundation Exhibition 2008

We visit the Foundation Exhibition every year to have a look at out former Y Pant students work as well as be inspired by new and exciting ideas. It is important for Year 12’s to visit the Exhibition to have a better idea of what the Foundation course is all about.
