1 Select the lasso tool as shown in the screen shot below and by holding down the left mouse button begin to draw around the edge of a shape that you want to cut out. It is very fiddly but O.K. if you just want a quick selection. The magic wand and marquee tools (see other tutorials) are much better. When you get close to your original starting point a black square appears near your curser and double clicking will then complete the shape. |
2, You can then use Edit and Cut and Edit and Past to paste your shape into a new document. |
