At Y Pant, you start your GCSE Portfolio in Year 9. It is part of your GCSE coursework. For Full Course ICT, the Portfolio is worth 30% of the marks. You also have to do the project. For Short Course ICT, the Portfolio is worth 60% of the marks and it is the only piece of coursework.

The Portfolio is split into 3 main sections;
- Communicating Information
- Data Handling
- Spreadsheet Modelling

Each module or section of work may be accompanied by one or more of the icons above. Each icon indicates a skill that you should be developing whilst tackling that topic. From left to right the skills are:-

You should take time now to sort out your folders on the network.
- Put all your year 7 and 8 work in a folder called ICT_Year7and8.
- Make sure all pictures are in the Pictures folder.
- Put all other work in appropriate folders.
- Create a new folder called ICT. Open that folder.
- Create 3 new folders called Project, Portfolio and From Public Drive.
- Open the Portfolio folder.
- Create 3 new folders called Communicating_Information, Data_Handling and Spreadsheet_Modelling.
All of your work for your portfolio should go in these 3 folders. If you copy any folders down from the public drive, put them into the From Public Drive folder unless your teacher tells you otherwise. |
