1. If you have followed the first frames tutorial you will know that you need to create a set of frames. One quick way to do this as long as you are in LAYOUT mode (see top left of your screen) is to select the FRAMES on on the right of the tool bar and then select "Top and nested left" from the list. This will give you a set of 3 frames and you can then go to FILE and SAVE FRAMESET and save it as index.htm You will then have a page with frames ready to place files or web pages into. In the example on the video (click camera logo above) you will see that a sample page 1 and page 2 and sample pages called Top Logo and Side panel have previously been created. You will need to do something similar to follow this tutorial.

2. Click inside the top frame and select FILE and OPEN IN FRAME and open the file you have created called Top Logo. This procedure means that the file called Top Logo will open in the frame you were in when you made this choice.
You can then do the same thing in the side frame for the web page called sidebar or something similar depending on what you called yours.

3. Once you have got your top and side pages in their frames you can make links to other documents to open in the remaining frame (mainFrame as Dreamweaver automatically names it). Make a link to a document in the normal way but make sure that in the TARGET box in the Property Inspector at the foot of your screen you select mainFrame. This will ensure that when you view the link through a browser the page will open in what remains of the screen. 4. Here you see a page viewed through a browser, opening in the main frame without having to reload the top and side frames.
