We have been using ParentMail successfully in school over the past few months to send text and emails home to parents for various reasons. It helps us to be in more direct contact with parents and also to start saving on our photocopying bill!
However there are still about 300 pupils whose parents have not signed up yet. Please download this form, print and fill it in and return to school. If you contact school we can send out a form for you.
Please note that even if we have your email address and mobile number already from when you registered your child, due to Data Protection legislation we cannot use this. You MUST fill in a ParentMail form.
As you know we try very hard to keep parents regularly informed about what’s going on at the school, however, sending paper letters home can be rather ‘hit and miss’ with letters often going astray on the way!
We are also increasingly aware of the substantial cost and environmental impact associated with the amount of paper and photocopying involved.
To help improve these areas we have decided to use a service called ParentMail®, which is used by over 2,500 schools across the UK to communicate with parents by email and text message. ParentMail will be beneficial to you because:
Messages will get to you reliably
We can send messages directly to mums and dads at the same time
We can inform you when your child is absent from school
You will quickly know about important or urgent messages
We can tell you more about what’s going on at the school
To use ParentMail® we need to collect your email addresses and mobile numbers and we would ask you to complete the attached form and return it to school as soon as possible. Most pupils have already returned the forms but some have not.
Please be assured that ParentMail® is registered with the Data Protection Registrar and guarantees that all information you provide will be kept private and will not be passed on to any other organisation.
Important – When we start using ParentMail, email messages will be sent from firstname.lastname@example.org. Please add this address to your email address books (or approved sender list) to prevent messages from being blocked by your SPAM/JUNK filters.
If pupils need to take medication during school hours they must have a consent form filled in by parents. The forms are available from the office or can be downloaded here. Pupils MUST leave all medication with the office and go there to get it at the required time. If pupils do not take their medication the year team will be informed.
This form is needed for every off-site trip. You child should have been given half-filled in form for a trip. If you have lost it however you can download this form to print off, fill in and bring into school instead.
